Now that you are familiar with the concept of Boolean operators, you will examine how they are used by search engines. If all of the search engines used Boolean operators exactly the same, this would be much easier. However, that is not the case. As you will see, each search engine has a slightly different way of implementing Boolean operators. Recognizing the subtle differences and tailoring your search string to match the protocols built into a specific search engine can be very productive.
The best resources on this topic that I have been able to locate are the online Quick Guides maintained by search professionals.
Examine the Quick Guides. I’d suggest that you print at least one of these tables for future reference. Record your observations in the digital logbook.
