National Center for History in the Schools:
National Standards for History

"The development of the History Standards was administered by the National Center for History in the Schools at the University of California, Los Angeles under the guidance of the National Council for History Standards. The standards were developed with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the U.S. Department of Education."

You will immediately notice that in this document, the History Standards are organized by grade level as well as by topic and era. Part 1 addresses the Standards and Topics for Grades K-4. Part 2 addresses the general Standards for Historical Thinking as well as Standards for specific Eras of United States and World History.

I'd suggest that you review the standards for grade levels above and below your current grade level or course of study and then focus your attention on your primary course of study.

You will want add this site to your bookmarks/favorites collection for future reference. You may also want to print relevant sections of the document.
