course modules: online communications | world wide web | webpage design

This website will be your "classroom" for this online course. Take a few minutes to explore the website to familiarize yourself with the layout of the "classroom."

Navigation: Top Row

Directly below the logo on every webpage in the course, you will notice four links that look like this:

Clicking on these links will:

home: return you to the course homepage

instructor: take you to a page with the instructor's email address. You will want to add the instructor's email address to your email address book as you will be using it often throughout the course.

support documents: take you to a page with links to course support documents (logbook, contact information, FPU Continuing Education Policies and Procedures, etc.)

toolkit: take you to a section of the course website that contains every hypertext link contained in the course modules. This webpage will be useful when you want to return to a link your explored earlier in the course and do not want to burrow down into the modules to find the link. The course website will be available to course participants after course completion for future reference.

Navigation: Second Row

Inside the course modules, you will see a second module navigation bar like this:

course module name: interactive syllabus  | assignment 1

You will notice, as you enter each module, that the top navigation row remains the same but that the second row changes to reflect the module organization scheme.

Clicking on the interactive syllabus link will take you to the interactive syllabus for each module. This interactive syllabus will provide an outline of the course content as well as hyperlinks to all of the module content.

A link at the bottom of each module webpage will take you to the next page in the course.

Important Note: If you haven't already done so, now is the time to download a copy of the course logbook which is located in the Course Support Documents section.

You will use this logbook to record your observations, comments and assignment completion dates as you move through the course. You will submit the course logbook to the instructor for evaluation upon completion of the course.

Next: After you download a copy of the course logbook from the Course Support Documents you will want to review the other content available in that corner of the course website.

When you have done that, click on the online communication module link at the top of any course webpage page to begin the course.
