News on the Web

Many of us grew up in the era of television news. The six o'clock news with its sound bites and "details at 11" often left us hungry for the rest of the story. The web has changed all that.

Major broadcast networks and newspapers have invested heavily in websites that provide nearly instantaneous background information on late-breaking news stories. These days you are as likely to find the latest news online.

Before you begin the next exploration, spend a few minutes reading a newspaper and watching or listening to your regular news sources. Then, explore this collection of news websites and compare it to the news available from your traditional news sources.

Record your observations in the course logbook.
