Objectives:
A. The students will be able to research a Midwest state assigned to them by their
teacher.
B. The students will be able to create a suitcase that demonstrates knowledge of
human and physical features in their state.
Material
A. 24 laptop computers
B. assorted construction paper
C. Internet connection
Introduction
A. Students will choose a partner to work with on this project.
B. Teacher will discuss vacationing with the students. What do they take with them and why and also what do they do on vacation and what do they bring back with them.
C. The teacher will go over the directions for the assignment.
Body
A. The partners will each research their state on their own laptop.

B. Partners will share the information they have found and decide which 15 facts they will make into items that will go inside their suitcase
C. They will then decide which five items will be stickers on the outside of their suitcase.
D. The partners will take the construction paper and create a suitcase, items for the inside, and stickers for the outside.
Closure
A. Students will place items inside their suitcases and stickers on the outside.
B. Students will share their suitcases with the class.
Evaluation
A. Students will be evaluated by their ability to explain the stickers and items inside their suitcases. Their presentation should show knowledge of physical and human features of their state.
B. Students will be evaluated by their suitcases and items inside and on the outside of suitcase.
C. The students will be evaluated by their ability to work with their partner.
